Description
Learn how to deploy and run CFML applications on Google's App Engine (GAE), the same server systems that power Google applications, for free. In a few steps you will be able to run your applications, with very few modifications (if any), using the open-source Open BlueDragon CFML GAE engine combined with the GAE Java SDK using a tidy plug-in for the Eclipse IDE. We will explore the nuances of CFML on GAE, specifically addressing issues with the virtual file system, email, datastore and HTTP calls through examples taken from a live, public Dallas-focused website . Do not worry, these accommodations are simple and straightforward enabling your application to run on a very robust "cloud" server platform for zero dollars ... priceless!
Special Setup
- Please have either Eclipse or CF Builder IDE along with the GAE Java SDK plug-in installed on your laptop. Download links for the GAE Java SDK plugin and the Open BlueDragon GAE engine, along with installation instructions, will be made available prior to the conference.
Prerequisites
Attendees should be familiar with programming in CFML, but no knowledge of Google App Engine or Open BlueDragon is required.
